Where Does This End?

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. (Judges 21:25, NKJV)

What is going on in our country and the world at large? And more importantly, where is this all headed?

That is an appropriate question. With all the violence going on in the Middle East, Europe, and here in the United States, one should have questions.

As the people of God, we should have some answers.

To me, I see God working out the fulfillment of His eternal plan:

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:3-14)

Where Does This End?I am not saying the end is at hand. I do believe we are closer than we might imagine to that Day.

We are such a polarized and politically divided nation that people will go to a baseball field to shoot at members of Congress.

Folks, our country is deeply divided.

Our country is the leading exporter of much of what God says He will judge.

Is it possible that we are being judged?

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We need to repent on behalf of ourselves and our country. Our country needs to return to the Lord and be healed.

Where Does This End?

I do not know. But we are headed in the wrong direction. That much is certain.

Righteous Father God, save us one and all! Pour out Your Spirit on this land. We need You. We have sinned against You and turned our backs on You. Please forgive us and heal us. In Jesus name, Amen.
